Acetaminophen, Medication to Overcome the Pain and Fever

Class of analgesic drugs including acetaminophen used to relieve pain and reduce fever. Although it is not like aspirin, which can relieve the redness, stiffness or swelling caused by rheumatoid arthritis. However, acetaminophen may relieve pain caused by mild forms of arthritis.

These drugs can be obtained without using prescription or OTC.

This product is available in the following dosage forms:

1. Solution

2. Tablet

3. Suppository

4. Powder

5. Syrup

6. Chewable Tablets

7. Capsule

8. Powder for dissolved

9. Suspension

10. Elixir

11. Liquid

12. Tablet, Effervescent

Composition

Containing pheniramine maleate

Indication

This medicine is used to reduce fever and to overcome mild to moderate pain caused by:

1. Headache

2. Menstruation

3. Toothache

4. Backache

5. Osteoarthritis

6. Symptoms of influenza

Dose

For oral dosage forms (capsules, powders, solutions, suspensions, or tablets) and rectal dosage forms (suppositories):

For pain or fever:

1. Adults and adolescents

a. 325 or 500 mg every 3 or 4 hours

b. 650 mg every 4-6 hours

c. 1000 mg every 6 hours or as needed

Total daily dose should not be> 4000 mg (for example, eight 500 mg tablets)

2. Child

a. Infants up to age 3 months

40 mg every 4 hours or as needed

b. Infants aged 4-12 months

80 mg every 4 hours or as needed

c. Children aged 1-2 years

120 mg every 4 hours or as needed

d. Children aged 2-4 years

160 mg every 4 hours or as needed

e. Children aged 4-6 years

240 mg every 4 hours or as needed

f. Children aged 6-9 years

320 mg every 4 hours or as needed

g. Children aged 9-11 years

320-400 mg every 4 hours or as needed

h. Children aged 11-12 years

320-480 mg every 4 hours or as needed

Signs of overdose

1. Diarrhea

2. Increased perspiration

3. Loss of appetite

4. Nausea or vomiting

5. Stomach cramps or pain

6. Swelling and pain in the upper abdomen

Storage

1. Drug store in a covered container at room temperature, away from heat, moisture, and direct light.

2. Keep the temperature is too low.

3. Store in a closed place.

4. Suppository dosage form can be stored in the refrigerator but not in the freezer.

5. Keep out of reach of children.

6. Do not keep outdated medicine.
