Diclofenac is a nonsteroidal drug classes with an anti-inflammatory activity, analgesic and antipyretic. Diclofenac inhibits the activity of the enzyme cyclo-oxygenase resulting in the formation of prostaglandins is inhibited.
Composition:
Each enteric coated tablet contains diclofenac sodium 25 mg.
Indication:
Treatment of acute and chronic symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis and ankylosing spondylitis.
Dosage:
Osteoarthritis: 50 mg, 2 – 3 times daily or 75 mg, 2 times daily.
Rheumatoid arthritis:
50 mg, 3-4 times daily, or 75 mg, 2 times a day. Ankylosing spondylitis: 25 mg, 4 times daily, added to 25 mg when going to sleep. Tablets must be swallowed whole before a meal.
