Eprosartan is a group of drugs called angiotensin II receptor antagonists. Eprosartankeep blood vessels from narrowing, which reduces blood pressure and improveblood flow. Eprosartan diberiakn sometimes in conjunction with other blood pressure medications.
Indications:
To treat high blood pressure (hypertension).
Dosage:
600 mg by mouth (orally), 1 time a day in the morning.
Maximum Dose: 800 mg / day
Side Effects:
Basanya mild and temporary: CNS effects (dizziness), CV effects (orthostatichypotension associated with dose, which can occur especially in patients whoexperience thinning of the content); kidney damage.
Other effects are somewhat rare: rash, angioedema, and an increase in liver function tests (LFTs); myalgia.
Special Instructions:
Patients with depletion of the content (eg high-dose diuretic therapy) may experiencehypotension and should start with low doses.
Use with caution in patients with renal artery stenosis, kidney damage, or liverdamage.
Serum K should be supervised, especially in older patients, patients with renal impairment and diuretic saving of calcium (K) should be avoided.
