Iloprost

Iloprost is a synthetic prostacyclin. These drugs are similar to chemicals in the body that widens blood vessels, such as in the arteries and lungs. Dilation of blood vessels to reduce high blood pressure.

Indications:

Iloprost is used as an inhalant to treat PAH (pulmonary arterial hypertension).

Dosage:

Individual doses with a range of 0.5-2 ng / kg body weight / min, infusion through a vein (intra venous) for 6 hours / day, do it for 4 weeks.

Side Effects:

CV effects (skin redness, hypotension, syncope, palpitations), CNS effects (headache, insomnia); Securities GI (N / V); neuromuscular effects (trismus, backache, muscle cramps, sore jaw); respiratory effects (cough, flu-like syndrome), hepatic effects (high LFT); Other (reaction at the infusion point.)

Special Instructions:

Berkontraindikasi in patients with active stomach ulcers, trauma, intracranial hemorrhage, congestive heart disease (CHD), acute or unstable angina, myocardial infarction within 6 months; congestive heart failure (CHF), chronic arrhythmia associated with prognosis, with a suspected lung pulmonary congestion; in pregnant and lactating women.

Avoid in patients with hypotension (SBP <85 mmHg).

Use with caution in patients with the condition or the medication that increases the risk of syncope, use with caution in patients with liver damage.
