Keppra

:

Keppra is an anti-epileptic drugs, which are used to help control some types of seizuresin the treatment of epilepsy. This medicine can not cure epilepsy and will only work tocontrol seizures during drug consumption.

Indications:

To cope with partial seizures in adults and children at least 4 years old.

To cope with generalized tonic-clonic seizures in adults and children at least 6 years old.

To cope with myoclonic seizures in adults and children at least 12 years old.

Dosage:

For adults & children aged above 16 years:

Initial dose: 500 mg by mouth (orally), 2 times a day.

The dose may be increased every 2 weeks until maximum dose: 1,500 mg by mouth(orally), 2 times a day.

If you have kidney disease, reduce the dosage used.

Implementation:

Can be taken with or without food.

Side Effects:

Depression, dizziness, drowsiness, headache, infection, loss of muscle coordination,anxiety, pain, dry throat, weakness.

Special Instructions:

Store this medicine at room temperature.

If you want to stop using, stop slowly. A sudden cessation could increase the frequencyof seizures.

Do not stop using drugs without consulting the health care provider.

Do not drive, operate machinery or engage in other hazardous activities until it can be ascertained that the influence of drugs will not interfere.

Do not be given to patients who had previously shown hipersesitivitas to levetiracetamor any other non-active ingredients contained in tablets or Keppra Keppra oral solution.

Thoughts / ideas of suicide can be caused by other things than drugs.
