Levosimendan



Levosimendan is a calcium sensitizer that is used in regulating the decompensation of congestive heart disease. Levosimendan increases cardiac contractility.

Indications:

To treat high blood pressure (hypertension).

Dosage:

Initial dose: 3-12 mcg / kg IV for 10 minutes followed by

Advanced Infusion: 0.1 mcg / kg / min IV which can be reduced to 0:05 mcg / kg / h or increase up to 0.2 mcg / kg / hour

Distinguishing dose and duration of therapy based on patient reaction.

Side Effects:

The effect seen during the infusion: Effect of CV (hypotension) CNS effects (headache), a rather rare: Effect of CV (extrasystole, A-fib, tachycardia, palpitations, MI).

The effect / side effect seen within 3 days after the infusion begins: haematological effects (lowering Gb); metabolic effects (hypokalemia); CNS effects (dizziness, headache); Effects of CV (hypotension, myocardial ischemia, extrasystole, atrial fibrillation, tachycardia, ventricular tachycardia); Securities GI (N / V).
