Nicomol

:

Nicomol is a derivative of niacin that is useful as a hypolipidemic agent. Niceritrol lowercholesterol and triglyceride in whole plasma.

Indications:

To reduce LDL cholesterol (low-density lipoproteins) and raise HDL (high-densitylipoprotein).

Dosage:

200-400 mg 3 times daily

Side Effects:

Reddish, hyperglycemia, hyperuricemia, gout, GI effects (cramping, diarrhea, intoxication, etc.), hepatotoxicity is rare.

Special Instructions:

To reduce rosy: Give with food, starting with a low dose and increase gradually, to giveenteric-coated aspirin 75-325 mg by mouth (orally) before giving the dose.

Give before bed.

Not recommended for chronic liver disease and in patients with severe arthritic pain.

Use with caution in patients with DM and patients with hyperuricemia.
