Phenylpropanolamine is a decongestant. This drug works by shrinking the blood vessels (veins and arteries) in the body. Contraction of blood vessels in the sinuses, nose and chest to make the area of drought, thereby reducing appetite.
Indications:
To treat obstruction associated with allergies, hay fever because of allergies (hay fever), sinus irritation, and the common cold.
To decrease your appetite.
Dosage:
The release of regular: 50 mg by mouth (orally), 1 times daily.
Extended release: 75 mg by mouth (orally), 1 times daily.
Side Effects:
Anxiety, fatigue, insomnia, dizziness, nausea, hypertension, tachycardia, arrhythmias.
Special Instructions:
Use with caution in patients with acute CV disease, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, thyroid dysfunction, glaucoma & prostatik hypertrophy.
