Quinapril

:

Quinapril is a group of drugs called angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) or heart failure.Indications:

To treat high blood pressure (hypertension) or heart failure.

Dosage:

Initial dose: 5 mg by mouth (orally), 1 time a day

Maintenance dose: 10-20 mg / day by mouth (orally), in divided doses

Maximum dose: 40 mg / day

Side Effects:

CV effects (hypotension, angioedema); CNS effects (fatigue, headache), GI effects (taste disturbance); Other effects (dry cough; upper resp tract symptomps); Securities dermatological (skin rashes, erythemamultiforme, toxic epidermal necrolysis); Reaction hypersensitivity; effect of renal (kidney damage); electrolyte disturbances (hyperkalemia, hyponatremia); blood disorders.

Special Instructions:

Patients with HF and those with lack of salt or water (diuretics or dialysis experience) may experience hypotension during ACE inhibitor therapy early stage. (Begin treatment only under the supervision of experts; in these patients using low dose and make sure the patient in supine position)

Start with a low dose and gradually increase the dose if lower doses are already acceptable.

Avoid in patients with aortic stenosis or outflow tract obstruction and usually should be avoided in patients suspected of having the disease renovaskuler actual (actual renovascular disease).

Should not be administered to patients if these patients had experienced life-threatening side effects (angioedema or renal failure) during the previous administration, hypotensive patients who are at moderate risk of cardiogenic shock.

Use with caution in patients who have a history of hereditary angioedema or idiophatic.

Check your blood pressure (BP), renal function and electrolytes 1-2 weeks after the addition of each dose, at 3 months and then do every 6 months. (It takes more pengawsaan in patients with previous or new renal dysfunction)

NSAIDs should be avoided because it can cover the benefits and increase the side effects of ACE inhibitors and may jeopardize the function synergistically gin
