Rifampicin 450 mg


Rifampisina is an oral antibiotic which has bactericidal activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Mycobacterium leprae. Mechanism of action rifampisina by inhibiting the enzyme DNA-dependent RNA polymerase resulting in the synthesis of RNA of microorganisms is inhibited. To speed healing and prevent germs resistance during treatment, rifampisina should be combined with other antituberculosis such as INH or Ethambutol. Rifampisina with other antibiotics showed no cross-resistance.

Composition:
Each capsule contains 450 mg rifampisina.

Indications:
1. Tuberculosis, preferably in combination with other antituberculosis to speed healing and prevent germ resistance. 2. Leprosy, lepromatous type, dimorfus and other types that are resistant or intolerant to other antileprotik.

Dosage:
Adults: 600 mg or 10-20 mg / kg daily, for patients with impaired liver function the dose should not exceed 8 mg / kg daily. Children: 10-20 mg / kg daily, maximum 600 mg a day. Giving the drug 1 hour before meals or 2 hours after meals.
