Verapamil

:

Verapamil is a drug belonging to calcium channel blocker that works by relaxing the heart muscle and blood vessels.

Indications:

Used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension), angina, and certain heart rhythmdisturbances.

Dosage:

Regular Giving:

The dose given by mouth (oral) of 40-80 mg, 3-4 times daily.

Maximum Dose: 480 mg / day

Providing continued:

The dose given by mouth (orally) of 120-360 mg, 1 time a day.

Side Effects:

CV effects (depression of cardiac function, hypotension, worsening heart failure,edema, bradycardia), GI effects (constipation); CNS effects (headache, dizziness).

HR regulate calcium antagonists (such as Diltiazem, Gallopamil & verapamil);decomposition of AV, AV block, bradycardia and sinus disorders stem.

Brief interaction dihydropyridine agents should be avoided because it has the potentialincreased risks worsening heart condition.

Special Instructions:

Berkontra-indications in patients who clearly suffered a loss of heart failure, althoughvasoselective dihydropyridine (such as Amlodipine, Felodipine) can survive in patients with decreased LVEF.
