The combination of amphetamines and dextroamfetamin included in the group of medicines called central nervous system stimulant. Used to treat attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and narcolepsy (uncontrollable desire for sleep or deep sleep attacks abruptly).
The combination of amphetamines and dextroamfetamin increase attention and decrease restlessness in patients who are overactive, can not concentrate for long periods or easily distracted, and are emotionally unstable. The combination of amphetamines and dextroamfetamin also be used for other conditions as directed.
Dose
Drug dose is different for different patients. Follow doctor’s orders or the directions on the label. The following information includes only the average doses of this drug.
Oral dosage form (tablets):
For attention deficit hyperactivity disorder:
1. Adults and children aged 6 years and older: At first 5 milligrams (mg) 1-2 times daily. The doctor may increase your dose if needed.
2. Children 3 to 5 years; Initially 2.5 mg daily. The doctor may increase your dose if needed.
3. Children younger than age 3 years; Use is not recommended.
For narcolepsy:
1. Adults, adolescents, and children aged 12 years and older: Initially 10 mg daily.Your doctor may adjust the dose if needed.
2. Children 6 to 12 years of age; initially 5 mg a day. The doctor may increase your dose if needed.
3. Children younger than age 6 years; Dose must be determined by your doctor.
Oral dosage form (extended-release capsules):
For ADHD:
1. Adults: 20 milligrams (mg) once daily in the morning.
2. Children and adolescents 6 to 17 years; In the beginning 10 milligrams (mg) once daily in the morning. Doctors can adjust the dose if needed.
3. Children younger than age 6 years; Dose must be determined by your doctor.
Side Effects
1. Bladder pain
2. Cloudy or bloody urine
3. Pain or difficulty urinating
4. Irregular heartbeat or palpitations
5. Frequent urge to urinate
6. Lower back or side pain
Symptoms of overdose:
1. Blurred vision
2. Dark-colored urine
3. Despair
4. Dizziness, fainting, or lightheadedness when getting up from lying or sitting position suddenly
5. Feeling sad or empty
6. Irritable
7. Lack of appetite
8. Loss of interest or pleasure
9. Muscle cramps or spasms
10. Muscle pain or stiffness
11. Nervous
12. Overactive reflexes

These drugs are only available by prescription and can not be recharged. The new prescription must be obtained from the doctor every time you need this drug.This product is available in the form of tablets and capsules (extended release).
