Pindolol



Pindolol is a type of drug known as beta-blockers, used in the treatment of high blood pressure. These drugs are effective used alone or used in conjunction with other high blood pressure medications, particularly with a thiazide-type diuretic.

Indications:

To treat high blood pressure.

Dosage:

By mouth (orally) of 2.5-5 mg, given 3 times a day

May be increased to 10 mg, administered orally (by mouth), 3 times a day

Maximum dose: 40 mg / day

Side Effects:

CNS effects (fatigue, depression, dizziness, confusion, sleep disturbances); Effects of CV (heart failure, heart blockage, cold, impotence in men); Securities row (bronchospasma in patients who are vulnerable and drugs with beta1 must used selectively in these patients); Securities GI (N / V, diarrhea, constipation); metabolic effects (can produce hyper or hypoglycemia, changes in serum cholesterol and triglycerides.

Special Instructions:

Berkontra-indications with bradycardia, there formerly high-degree AV block, sick sinus syndrome and LV failure that is not stable.

Use with caution in patients bronchopasma, asthma, respiratory obstruction or disease. Use cautiously with the first block level, depression, patients with PVD, and patients with insulin yangmenggunakan.

Beta-blockers may mask the symptoms of hyperthyroidism and hypoglycemia and may aggravate psoriasis.

Long-term Patients should not stop with a sudden, had to stop gradually over 1-2 weeks.
