Amiodarone is an anti-arrhythmic drugs that affect heart rhythm. Amiodarone is used to help keep the heart beating normally in people who have certain heart rhythm disturbances in the heart chambers (ventricles are smaller which allows blood to flow out of the heart).
Indications:
Used to treat ventricular tachycardia or ventricular fibrillation.
Dosage:
The dose is given by 150 mg IV for 10 minutes. Followed by 1 mg / min IV for 6 hours of advanced dose: 0.5 mg / min IV infusion for 18 hours If arrhythmias recur: 150 mg IV every 10 minutes. The maximum dose: 2.2 gr
Side Effects:
CV effects (hypotension), CNS effects (abnormal gait / ataxia, dizziness, fatigue, dizziness, malaise, impaired memory, involuntary movements, insomnia, poor coordination, peripheral neuropathy, sleep disturbances, tremors); Securities Dermatology (photosensitivity); Effects GI N / V, anorexia, constipation); Securities liver (abnormal LFT); Securities Ophtha (mikrodeposit corneal).
