Cefepime



Cefepime is a group of drugs called cephalosporin antibiotics. Cefepime works bydeadly bacteria in the body. Cefepime is used to treat various types of bacterialinfections, including the state of severe or life-threatening. 

Indications:

To treat certain bacterial infections.

Dosage:

2 g intravenously (intra-vascular), do it every 8-12 hours

Side Effects:

Hypersensitivity reactions (urticaria, pruritus, rash, severe reactions such asanaphylaxis can occur); GI effects (diarrhea, N / V, diarrhea / colitis); other effect(candidal infection)

High doses can be associated with CNS effects (encephalopathy, convulsion); rarehaematological effects; influence on the kidneys and liver also occur.

Extension of PT (prothrombin time), the extension of APTT (activated partial thromboplastin time), and / or hypoprothrombinemia (with or without bleeding) is rumored to happen, most occur with NMTT side chain containing cephalosporins.

Special Instructions:

Be consumed with food to reduce gastric condition.

Use with caution in patients allergic to penicillin, it is possible 10% chance ofsensitivity.

Use with caution in patients with kidney damage.
