Griseofulvin is an antibiotic that is fungistatik. Griseofulvin in vitro can inhibit the growth of various species of Microsporum, Epidermophyton and Trichophyton. On the use of oral griseofulvin is absorbed slowly, with the size of particles, absorption can be improved. Griseofulvin dumped in the lowest cells of the epidermis, so that newly formed keratin will still be protected against fungal infections.
Composition:
Each tablet contains 125 mg of griseofulvin
Indications:
For treatment of fungal infections (ring-worm) on the skin, hair and nails caused by Microsporum, Epidermophyton and Trichophyton.
Dosage:
Adults, generally 4 times daily 1 tablet is enough. For certain cases it may take a higher initial dose of 8 tablets a day. Children, daily 10 mg per kg body weight. Duration of treatment carried out at least 4 weeks. For certain cases such as nail infections, treatment can last for 6-12 months. Therapy was stopped at least 2 weeks after the infection is gone.
