Oxacillin

Oxacillin is an antibiotic in the penicillin group of drugs. Oxacillin against bacteria in the body, which works by blocking bacterial cell wall so that the deadly bacteria. 

Indications:

To treat a variety of different types of infections caused by bacteria, such asstaphylococcal infections (also called the infection ”staph”).

Dosage:

500 mg-1 g through the muscle (intra muscular) or through a vein (intra-vascular),infusion was repeated every 4-6 hours.

Side Effects:

Hypersensitivity reaction (rash, urticaria, pruritus, severe reactions such asanaphylaxis can occur); GI effects (diarrhea, N / V, diarrhea / colitis associated withantibiotics); Other effects (infection candidial).

Haematological effects are rare and hepatic effects have occurred; high doses canbe associated with the emergence of CNS effects (encelopathy, convulsions).

Special Instructions:

Avoid in patients allergic to penicillin.

Use with caution in patients with kidney damage.
