Repaglinide

:

Repaglinide dalah oral diabetes medications that help control the blood sugar levels. These drugs lower blood sugar by causing the pancreas to produce insulin.Other diabetes drugs sometimes used in combination with repaglinide if needed.

Indications:

To treat diabetes mellitus type 2 (non-insulin dependent).

Dosage:

Initial dose: 0.5 mg by mouth (orally) before lunch.

Initial dose for patients converted from an anti-diabetic agent Other: 1 mg by mouth (orally) before lunch.

May increase the dose by doubling the dose every 1-2 weeks, according to thepatient’s reaction.

Maximum dose: 4 mg / dose or 16 mg / day

implementation:

Dosing is only performed before eating.

Side Effects:

Hypersensitivity, hypoglycemia, weight gain.

May encourage the emergence of adverse GI reactions.

Special Instructions:

Should not be administered to patients with DKA, patients with or without coma.
