Uva Ursi is a shrub plant that produces red fruit and growing in the alpine forests invarious regions, including North America, Europe, Iberian Peninsula, Siberia, and the Himalayas. Grow slowly in places where other plants can not grow, like on the walls ofthe valley.

Contents in this plant, among others, arbutin and hydroquinone. This plant also containstannins that help shrink and tighten the mucous membranes in the body. In turn, helpsreduce inflammation and fight infection.

Uva Ursi has been used in medicine since the 2nd century. Native Americans used it as a remedy for urinary tract infection.
